We keep asking the compelling questions. We keep pushing the agenda... We persist, intervene and take action. Our work is never over! Starting 2022, FEMWAV is putting out a new event and direction called DivHersify. A virtual convergence of dedicated young female musicians and professionals from India. A series of virtual conferences, starting 6th March, celebrating International Women's Day 2022. Beyond March, the virtual conferences will take place in May and August 2022. Excited and empowered, to invite and feature some of realest and baddest Indian female voices as we speak.
Curated by Ananya Roy, the objective at the heart of DivHersify is to empower new female talent, while creating new pathways - dialogue and action between the guest speakers and the audience. Directing it, Ananya has invited a diverse and talented spectrum of women, ranging from singers, academics, artist managers, rappers, DJs and more. We expect a melee of opinions, viewpoints, key figures and actual bonding! DivHersify is aimed at Indian women in music. Our storyboard for the conference reads like "Why do women add up to just 8-10% of the roster at Indian music festivals? Why do female artists earn lesser? Abysmal low number of female sound engineers, drummers, guitarists and instrumentalists. Where are the women we ask ?! Empowerment by active intervention. Emerging ecosystems of music. Distribution and revenue models - Diverse range of voices and expert opinions!"
