And freaky it is! The debut "imprint" of OCL Records curated by Pulpy Shilpy (Gowri Jayakumar) and Ryan Kardam is called Swarm Intel Volume 1. Close to a decade now, Gowri Jayakumar has transcended various monikers - as a singer songwriter, as producer, as DJ and now stepping up further as a curator. Based in Goa, she and Ryan Kardam (Producer, DJ) have co-produced a zesty little compilation of electronic music, which is spicy, synthy and not-about-a-genre. Over the past few years, Pulpy Shilpy has released a slew of singles, collaborating with producers and setting up an artist base in Goa, which is now panning out as Orbs Cure Labs and it's own record label.
The press release states "...creators that vitalize electronic dance ... irreverence to formula, using unique methods wielding new forms and sounds...". Swarm Intel Volume One features four emerging producers, who are divergent and edgy, producing music outside the confines of genre and grade. Earlier in 2021, Pulpy Shilpy featured on the first Indo-Norwegian electronic music compilation, titled Merge Emerge. An autodidact, she has consistently diversified as an artist. "With no knowledge of anything apart from how to make music, this has been an uphill journey, and has taken nearly a year to see through... " says Pulpy Shilpy resolutely. Given the label and the artists are based in Goa, it lead to events, parties and networking - adding like minded producers and DJs based in the region. New artists such as Kikomba, Chhab, Dream States and Alina have performed at OCL events. Check the OCL page for new events and music.

STOP PRESS ! Recently Pulpy Shilpy's Instagram account was suspended (deleted), following certain posts she made, expressing concern against the prevailing incidences of lynching in India. The reason Instagram provided is as pathetic, as hilarious -"sexually soliciting on Instagram". This is Instagram's double standards and hypocrisy of it's own community guidelines. That Instagram is clearly wielding to ugly power and big pressure. We at FEMWAV, support Pulpy Shilpy for her artistic as well as political motivation!
